Yolanda del Amo was born in Madrid and received a bachelor’s and master of science in Mathematics in from the Universität zu Köln, Cologne, Germany in 1993 and a master of Fine Arts in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence in 2004.
She has exhibited nationally and internationally including the Hudson Franklin Gallery, New York; the Barbara Walters Gallery at Sarah Lawrence College, Bronxville, NY: the Bronx Museum of Arts, New York; the National Portrait Gallery in London and Washington, D.C. (Smithsonian Institution); the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea, Barcelona, Spain; the Instituto Cervantes, New York; and the Palais de Glace, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her residencies include the Spanish Academy in Rome; the Terra Foundation for American Art, Giverny, France; the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, New York; and Light Work in Syracuse, New York, and she has been invited to be a resident artist at Cité International des Arts, Paris in 2011.
